3rd Run - Felt quicker

Yay! A great run! It felt fantastic, and a bit faster than the previous two. This is great. I'm saying that now, but wait 'till I get the distance up.... ha

I can tell I'm going to be sore a couple days from now. BUT IT'S WORTH IT.

Tomorrow maybe I'll hit 3 miles... pathetic.... haha

Tip of the day: Double-knot your freakin' shoe strings!!!

A Good Run!

Ahhhhh! Today was a very good run. Slow, so I don't want to mention the pace, and I'll admit it was just 2 miles, BUT it felt great!

Maybe it was just the simplicity, who knows.....

I got very little sleep last night.. about 4 hours... but somehow I had plenty of energy this morning to get it done.

Tomorrow has the same schedule.

Tip: Get more than 4 hours of sleep.... duh....

The Definition of a Sloppy Run

Ew.... not my best run. Not even a good run. A short two miles today felt rocky. I felt pretty tired going into the run, but nonetheless, it was less than smooth.

My stride was a bit ascew. I have apparently forgotten some of the basics. I'll refine that.

My stride was shorter than it used to be. Probably by about a half foot, which doesn't sound like much, but it really does affect the entire run. Tomorrow will be another short run. I'll make sure I analyze myself the entire way through.

My new Nike Air Pegasus shoes were a little more stiff than I expected. Kinda left my ankles and toes feel a little stressed. Pathetic!

Note to self: Wear new shoes around the house, on walks, whereever you can to break them in before a run.

Please vote on the poll to the right. What's your favorite running shoe brand? =)

The First Mile

I love the smell of a new pair of running shoes. There’s something about it that makes me smile. Come to think of it, I like the smell of old ones too… but I can’t explain that one.

I’ve learned a lot about myself and about running over the past several years. Don’t take me as an expert, I’m far from it. However, I do know a thing or two about where and how to start and how to continue for running for fun, running to get in shape, and running competitively.

This blog is going to be about the trials and tribulations of me and fellow runners. Tips, advice, memories of great times and mistakes. Whatever comes to mind about running may end up on this blog.

I’ve logged thousands of miles. If I had to guess, over the past several years I have logged ~7,000 miles. And growing. That may seem far, but looking back, it feels like nothing but a few strides.

Right now I am way out of shape. So, I’m going to be starting from square one. That new pair of running shoes.

Tomorrow morning will be an easy 2 miles. Short… it’ll feel weird.

My tip for the day: Smell your new running shoes =)
